Cougar Mountain flashes home late to finish 2nd in the Irish Marketing Cup at Doha
Cougar Mountain Aidan O'Brien's first ever runner in the nation of Qatar was up against it with the draw and was held up at the back of the field he had a huge amount of ground to make up but flashed home late on to finish second around a length off the winner Sovereign debt. It was a great start to the season Donnacha gave him a great ride from a poor draw he just had too much ground to make up and ran out of time. It was a nice prep for Dubai which should be Cougar Mountains next port of call.
The Irish Marketing Cup at Doha is a Local Group Two (Unofficial Group Two) and Cougar Mountain came away with $44,000 in earnings.

Epsom Derby Winner Pour Moi will join Coolmore's National Hunt Roster
Montjeu’s brilliant Epsom Derby-winning son Pour Moi will stand at Grange Stud for the 2017 season under the Coolmore N.H. banner. With his first crop just turned four, Pour Moi has only had a handful of runners under National Hunt rules but is already sire of two smart hurdle winners in recent weeks. Coeur de Lion has won twice for Alan King and is Cheltenham bound either for the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle or the Grade 3 Fred Winter while Quids In was a 13-length winner of a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter for up-and-coming trainer Oliver Greenall. Purchasers of his stock at the Horses-in-Training Sales last Autumn included Harold Kirk/Willie Mullins, Tom Malone, Philip Hide and Highflyer Bloodstock.
A son of Montjeu out of a daughter of Darshaan who produced another classic performer in Gagnoa, Pour Moi is bred on a similar cross to the recently deceased Fame And Glory. A fee will be announced at a later date.

Fame And Glory Passes away
Multiple Group One winner Fame And Glory has died after suffering a suspected heart attack.
The son of Montjeu won 14 of his 26 starts for Aidan O'Brien, including top-level victories in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud (2008), Irish Derby (2009), Tattersalls Gold Cup (2010), Coronation Cup (2010) and the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot (2011).
He was retired to Coolmore stud at the end of the 2012 season having amassed over £2.3million in win and place prize-money.
Coolmore tweeted: "Fame And Glory sadly passed away this morning after suffering a suspected heart attack when covering a mare."
