Curragh Sunday

1:45 Barronstown Stud Irish EBF Maiden

Anthony Van Dyck - (Don)

Galileo Colt Half Brother to Multiple Group One Winner Bounding who has plenty of speed on the dam side his Dam Believe'n'succeed was an Australian.Group 3 winner at 5 furlongs. Obviously an interesting debutant.

Mount Everest - (Ryan) Horse Profile - Jockey Colours

Highly regarded Galileo Colt who was a May Foal. Full Brother to Yucatan. Alot of good vibes for this horse he really could be anything. Fascinating pedigree and the choice of stable jockey Ryan Moore. He is one of the juveniles I have been most looking forward to and hoping for a nice debut win.

Norway - (Heff)

Galileo Colt who was an April foal and is a Full Brother to Epsom Derby winner Ruler of the World & half Brother to multiple Group One winner Duke of Marmalade. He has an exceptional pedigree lets hope for a promising debut.

2:55 Grangecon Stud Stakes (Group 3)

Fire Fly - (Heff)

Highly Regarded Galileo filly Full Sister to Gustav Klimt. The only Galileo who holds an entry in the Phoenix Stakes. Makes her 2nd career start here was a promising fourth in a maiden at Leopardstown just over 3 weeks ago. Now thrown straight into group company although she remains a maiden she must be doing something right at home and i can see her pulling off a surprise today she is my pick for the race.

Fleeting - (Wayne)

Zoffany 2YO Filly who made a perfect start to her career wining on debut in a Limerick maiden over 7 furlongs just over a week ago bearing one of today's rival Vallambrosa close home by a neck. A drop in trip should not hinder her I just have preference for her stablemates.

So Perfect - (Ryan)

Scat Daddy 2YO Filly who cost $400,000 as a Yearling. One win from her 3 career starts made a perfect start to her career winning a Navan maiden on debut. Then a beaten odds on favorite in the Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Fillies' Sprint Stakes (Listed) at Naas in May she ran no race at all. Bounced back well to finish a more than creditable fourth to Signora Cabello in Queen Mary Stakes Group 2 at Royal Ascot over 5 furlongs. Carrying that form it makes her the one to beat step up in trip will help too but i slightly favor Fire Fly (Tenderly)

3:30 International Stakes (Group 3)

Yucatan - (Ryan) Horse Profile - Jockey Colours

Galileo 4YO who has not really hit the heights expected of him he was kept especially for his 4 year old campaign Bitterly disappointing last time out in the Wolferton Stakes Listed at Royal Ascot finishing last of 16 to Monarchs Glen. Wears Blinkers on 1st time today. He is the highest rated horse in the race and he really should be winning this but its difficult to be confident.

Clear Skies - (Don) Horse Profile - Jockey Colours

Smart Sea The Stars 5YO mare. All Five of her wins have come on the all weather at at Dundalk but she has some solid form on the turf too in fact a little unlucky not to have won at Listed level at Gowran. A respectable 10th in handicap company at Royal Ascot just over a week ago. She has been on the go a long time in fact is becoming this season Iron horse this will be her 14th start since last October. She has a big chance here and I would not be surprised to see her beat home Yucatan but I tenderly have to side with her stablemate.

4:40 Juddmonte Pretty Polly Stakes (Group 1)

Athena - (Don)

Camelot 3YO filly Half Sister to Group 1 winner Bracelet & Group 2 winner Wading. Lovely filly who is still on an upward curve broke her maiden at Fairyhouse in May after several attempts and was a Creditable fourth to Magic Wand in Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last week She ran a little to keenly in the race. On ratings she is over a stone behind stablemate Forever Together who will be tough to beat. Athena maybe out of her depth here place claims at best.

Bye Bye Baby - (Heff)

Galileo 3YO Filly Full Sister to Bound Beacon Rock & Wedding Vow. Course and distance winner at the Curragh when winning the Blue Wind Stakes (Group 3) comfortably beating home the highly regarded Jaega on the 12th of May followed that with a creditable 3rd behind Forever Together in the Oaks at Epsom. Clearly she is a leading contender in this and who knows the 2 furlongs drop back in trip may suit her more than he illustrious stable mate but its hard to look past Forever Together who is 8 pounds clear of Bye Bye Baby on ratings.

Forever Together - (Ryan)

Galileo 3YO Filly full sister to G1 Winner Together Forever. A very unlucky looser at Chester behind Magic Wand in the Chesire Oaks she caught my eye that day and I backed her in the Oaks where she smartly disposed of Wild Illusion. She looks a potential superstar and while i'm not totally convinced the step back in trip will be ideal for her I do think her class will see her through she is hard to oppose today she has a very bright future ahead and no doubt the Irish Oaks & Yorkshire Oaks will be on the menu next and who knows maybe a tilt at the holy grail the Prix l'arc de Triomphe at Parislongchamp in October.

5:15 Curragh Cup (Group 2)

Giuseppe Garibaldi - (Heff)

Galileo 3YO Colt who is a full brother to State of the Art. 5 Starts in 2018 2 wins to his name so far including in listed company at Leopardstown earlier this month went on to finish third to Old Persian in King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last week just finishing 2 lengths off the winner he needing stronger gallop the race did not go his way but ran well anyway. Very surprised not to see Ryan Moore on his back today he has picked Flag Of Honour on ratings there is only a pound between them. Twilight Payment is the obvious danger but GG should go very close and Aidan has a good record in this winning 5 of the last 10 renewals. He is my pick of the Ballydoyle trio.

Flag Of Honour - (Ryan)

Progressive Galileo colt who is a Full Brother to Galilean Half brother Group 3 winner Air Chief Marshal Only 10th behind Study of Man in Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly but was only beaten by just over 4 lengths. Should flourish for the half a mile step up in trip and is the choice of stable jockey Ryan Moore bound to run a big race.

Victory Salute - (Wayne)

Galileo 3YO Colt full brother to Bondi Beach. Unraced as a juvenile has now had 2 starts in 2018. Smartly got off the mark in a Cork Maiden 2 weeks ago. this is a big step up in class. His brother Bondi Beach was an unlucky looser at this distance when he finished second in the St Leger at Doncaster in 2015 he lost the race at the Court of Appeal Victory Salute is only rated 94 with stable mates Giuseppe Garibaldi on 108 and Flag Of Honour on 107 so for that reason have to oppose today.
